Meet Tommy
At six-years old, Tommy FitzPatrick loved Star Wars, Legos, and playing with his brother and sister. He had an infectious smile and sharp intellect, endearing him to everyone who knew him.
For two years, Tommy and his team #TommyStrong, inspired all who met him or heard his story to join the fight against pediatric cancer. Hundreds of community members supported his team and came together for a special celebration. His campaign even captured the attention of former Yankees manager, Joe Girardi.
In February 2019, two years after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, Tommy passed away, leaving behind a legacy of strength, smiles, and purpose.
Inspired by Tommy’s strength and harnessing the power of community, the FitzPatrick family recently started The Tommy Strong Foundation. The Foundation is supporting Tackle Kids Cancer’s efforts to find cures for pediatric cancers and provide support to families coping with the disease. “No child, no family should ever hear there are no more options for them. That is why the work we are doing with Tackle Kids Cancer is so important,” said Andrew FitzPatrick, Tommy’s father.
