Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital
As a designated children’s hospital, Hackensack Meridian Children's Health at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical pediatric care in more than 30 sub-specialties, all integrated within a state-of-the-art child and family focused facility.
The soothing, patient-focused environment embraces the needs of children from birth through adolescence and into young adulthood. A modern facility with children’s play and family kitchen areas, it features private inpatient rooms with Internet access. Parents are encouraged to take part in their children’s treatment and are welcome to stay overnight. The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital (JMSCH) was planned in conjunction with The Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center, and designed to be a “green” hospital.
With a comprehensive array of services, program, and sub-specialties, the hospital has a 105 bed in-patient unit, which include a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Epilepsy Monitoring Unity (EMU.) In addition, JMSCH has a Level 2 49 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Located adjacent to the inpatient facility, is an out-patient building for physician offices, out-patient therapies, and an out-patient infusion clinic for oncology and hematology patients.
The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital is honored to have received two gold badges from U.S. News and World Report, in both neurology and neurosurgery and pediatric cancer. This honor signifies its ranking as one of the top 50 programs in these specialties in the country.
The Children’s Cancer Institute (CCI) at Hackensack Meridian Health is housed in the hospital, as well. The largest and most comprehensive pediatric oncology center in the state of New Jersey, treats over 200 patients annually. The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital the only center providing pediatric bone marrow and stem cell transplants in the state of New Jersey.
