About us

Together We Can Tackle Kids Cancer

The Children's Cancer Institute at Hackensack Meridan Health is a philanthropic initiative to raise money for pediatric cancer research and patient care programs occurring at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital and K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital.

The Children's Cancer Institute is the largest pediatric program in the state of New Jersey, with a comprehensive research and clinical care program.

Donations made to Tackle Kids Cancer benefit the essential clinical care, unique support services and groundbreaking cancer research needed to find a cure.

Government funding to support pediatric cancer research is severely lacking, with approximately just four percent of the National Cancer Institute’s budget dedicated to childhood cancer.

Pediatric cancer is the number one cause of death by disease in children in the United States.

It is estimated that more than 40,000 children are treated for cancer annually nationwide. The average age at diagnosis is six and one in eight children do not survive.
